About usThe Mt Pleasant Pottery Group was established in 1960. Our first club studio was attached to the Mount Pleasant Community Centre. After the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, we were displaced. Despite difficult times, we continued potting and was welcomed to the Phillipstown community hub where we held classes and maintained our community of potters.
Meanwhile in the background, some dedicated committee members were scheming our return to Mount Plesant. In April of 2020, we finally managed to secure an amazing location in the old Redcliff school buildings. Since then we have been growing a vibrant and creative community of potters with many new and old members joining. |

Health and SafetyWe are a health and safety conscious organisation; because of the nature of clay and the chemicals mixed to form glazes we need all our members and students to be aware of the hazards. Our H&S document is shown on the Classes Page; please read it and act on it.
