We are able to share a wood firing with the Halswell potters group in Candys Road, Halswell. We would like members to share this experience of chopping wood for fuel and spend a couple of hours stoking the kiln on July 28th. This is a great opportunity to try something different Pots can be made with LF18, Macs white, or clay that fires to 1300c. These will be bisqued in early July in our kilns. On Tuesday 10th July, club night, we will have a glazing night with your pots. The glazes available are a Shino & a Celedon. We will also have several washes. Types of work can be vases, jugs, cups, whimsical, sculptural type work but, no bowls or plates as this type of firing can leave rough marks inside the work. Outside roughness is ok.
